Commonly known as Mountain Laurel, Calico Bush or Kalmia. They are 12-20 feet shrub but are occasionally taller and single – trunked, attaining smaller tree status. Mountain Laurel is one of the most beautiful native flowering shrubs and is well displayed as an ornamental in many parks such as ours here Tranquility at Carters Lake.
