Snake season in the north Georgia mountains is now fully underway. And that includes our community.
Snakes are cold-blooded. This means, as the weather gets warmer, they emerge from their hiding places. Most snakes start becoming more active at the beginning of April, and stay on the move into the fall.
There are no snake repellants, so the best thing you can do is keep shoes on your feet and keep your head on a swivel, especially in the evenings.

Calycanthus floridus, or commonly known as the eastern sweetshrub, Carolina all spice, or spicebush, is a species of flowering shrub in the family Calycanthacee. It is identifiable by its dark red flowers and fragrant scent. It is non-invasive and is found in the Southeast region of the US.~Wikipedia

In the interest of maintaining the lovely neighborhood we all expect, this year the TRANQUILITY AT CARTERS LAKE Board of Directors has renewed its effort to make sure our Design Guidelines are maintained.
The Architectural Control Committee (ACC) will use our updated Design Guidelines and Landscaping Guidelines section of the Tranquility at Carters Lake Covenants for guidance. These documents can be reviewed below:
