It’s peak Joro spider season. Here are a few things you should know.
These are INVASIVE and are spreading rapidly across Georgia. They will likely continue north up the East Coast.
As far as we know, they DO NOT pose a threat to people or pets.
Joros are NOT beneficial. As Joros move in, populations of native spiders decline, meaning these invasives are displacing native species.
They are here to stay.
They can be controlled by any number of methods you’d use for anything pestiferous on your house, but physically moving them is best, as chemicals do more harm than good.
They DO NOT want to go inside your house, but they will make a web on the outside of your home (or other structures).
